China to Introduce E-Commerce

The ministry of Industry and Information Technology mentioned that they would be investing $2.9 trillion dollars to their e-commerce in China. This will mean that Amazon and Google will benefit from this investment and cause strength in e-commerce in China finally. I always thought that China was great at e-commerce because they are good at all other areas of business but this article seems to teach a different view. The Internet regulator also says it will back legislation to aid the sector and promote the use of e-tickets on China's huge public transport system. This seems like a great start for e-commerce. Really, it does; this is not sarcasm like the rest of my article briefs.

Shoes Look Great Online

Recent trends have shown that $7.9 billion of the e-commerce business has been from the shoe industry. This all started with Zappos.com (recently bought by amazon.com in 2009) and now has taken 3.9% of the ecommerce pie. I cannot think of a product that has not at least tested the online water for success. I love shopping for shoes, especially when I don’t have to be near others and try on shoes that others have put on. That always grosses me out.

Mobile Devices Overtake the World (IT World)

It is amazing to me that mobile devices will outnumber humans in 2012 and by 2014 mobile will exceed desktop Internet usage. Did I read that right? Yes, yes I did. We are a moving society with things to do and people to keep in contact with. It is amazing to me that we cannot stop and read emails at a desk and listen to conversation in front of people during coffee. It is fascinating, thought that there will be more devices than people during this current year. That would mean that society would have more than one phone to their name and that they are currently using more than one phone for their lives. What a busy life, no?

India: They Love E-Commerce

E-commerce is helping people in smaller towns in India access quality products and services similar to what people in the larger cities have access to. Indians are also increasingly taking to mobile devices for not only search but shopping as well. The number of Smartphone users is rapidly increasing in India and with 4G services about to take off it’s expected to get even more people going online. There are currently about 900 million mobile subscribers and this number is expected to touch 1.2 billion by 2015. Acceptance of online shopping as a secure shopping mode is has also helped to increase e-commerce uptake. Currently only about 10 million people do online transactions out of an approximate population of 200 million credit and debit card holders. Interesting how far behind they are but still how much they follow western tradition and culture.

99Dresses: 99 Reasons To Buy

This is like the best thing since sliced bread. I totally am all about this. I think that this will really fly with the consumers. The thought I have is do you form a “credit” and then receive “buttons” or do you just get buttons for being a member or? I am curious to see how expensive it will come out to be. It seems as if the handling of all these dresses could get sticky. If it is like ebay… I hope that the sellers mention that there will be pit stains and possible yuck on the dress they purchase. There are many dresses that cannot be cleaned, you know? Through and through, e-commerce pulls out a great new idea again.

Test It To Make It the Best

Simple testing could well be the difference between profitability and disaster. The article mentions that there is a need for the supplier to send items across the nation to make sure they get there. I think I am a little confused. Why do I need to do that to know that my website works? A little help here, please? As for testing your site, this is vital. You would much rather do that instead of being blast with various emails telling you flaws of the pages. Right?

E-commerce offers encourage shoppers to spend

What do you want me to say? This is true and nothing else needs to be said. We talked about this in class and it is just obvious. Oh, UK you are so far behind in news releases.

Indo Receives E-Commerce

Indonesia seems like a weird place to utilize e-commerce but actually it is not. Indonesia is always watching the border to China and what that are doing. This is a great decision, eventhough their industry will not look as sleek as ours. They are domestic in some areas but I see e-commerce being for a nation and not an area of the country.

Gifting Via Your Mobile Device

Swedish company now introduces social gifting. This is not needed by cash or credit, just a swipe of keys to allow gift cards to never be in the physical state. This is mind blowing to me. I wish that I would have thought about this. Talk about being green AND savvy. Gap, Starbucks, and Best Buy are among the names jumping on board to this mobile app that offers gifting as easy as possible.

Deb Store Steppin' Up to Compete

Deb has never been my favorite store to buy from. A lil dingy and messy stores. But now, they are taking that part of shopping their store away. Introducing their online store. Full of the plus sized clothes and trendy wear for teens. This, I feel, will really give them another breath of fresh air. I applaud them on their work to stay in the game.

Target Throws Amazon Away

Target recently waved goodbye to Amazon's Kindle? Due to Apple mini stores? Some say yes but Target fails to answer. This makes me think of how much power Target has when it comes to who they get their products from and how powerful Apple (could be) is to have their competitor leave the store to prepare for them.

Yelp is Screaming for Help

Yelp claimed a loss of over $9 million in their first quarter. Many articles have nothing but good things to say about e-commerce but Yelp is singing a different tune after their expansion this past year. Hopefully this will not be a trend for those brands trying to keep up. Old Faithfuls can only be faithful for a certain amount of time.

Aussies in Need of Web Designers

Drew? Where are you? Australia needs you.

This is an article that mentions how e commerce is okay but getting people to the page by design is difficult. This is a complex thing to work with but I liked seeing an article for those in design who are thinking there is nothing out there for them. you really dont think about the opportunities in this life until someone shows them to you.

E-Commerce Goes Global

This article written in a entreprenur website mentions an opportunity for everyone in the world to know that the sites for shopping are safe and secure for payment opportunities. This is a great idea, in my opinion. People from the USA can now go to a EU website a purchase. The online world just keeps getting smaller. Love that.

Awful for Them, Great for Me

This article mentioned how awful it is that legislature is forcing warnings when applications on smartphones pull a geolocation from your phone. On the consumer side, I love this. I am one to be paranoid that I am being watched or that people can watch my every move. If this were to be true and there wasn’t a warning, I think I would be clueless that I was draining my battery and also that I was using the GPS. I am all about legislation helping a girl out with rules that I support.

E-Commerce: Why It Works

Be it in one’s hometown, in the peaceful countryside or in a bustling business centre, consumers can now experience deals across locations with just a few taps of the keyboard. So, what’s making the consumer opt for online shopping options over traditional off-the-shelf purchases? Well, other than some of the key factors i.e. convenience, value prices and 24/7 accessibility, it is the greater choice and variety of product offering.
